Bratton’s Neighbourhood Development Plan
Our vision
Bratton will continue to be a great place to live, grow-up and work, for all age groups with excellent facilities and services all set within beautiful landscape and historic village. Sensitive and responsive planning and development will ensure the future of our village whilst protecting its heritage.
Background to the plan
In 2016 Bratton Parish Council considered developing a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish. The council undertook a short survey and, based on the results, decided to begin the process.
In 2017, a Bratton Neighbourhood Plan steering group was formed and the Parish boundary was “designated” as the area of the plan. Wiltshire Council was asked to carry out a housing needs survey in 2018, a legal requirement for the plan. The steering group sent out a community survey in 2019. Out of 520 questionnaires sent out, 300 responses were received (approx 60%).
The results were collated, analysed and were about to be presented to the community when the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic hit. The presentation was finally made in September 2021 at a public meeting in the Jubilee Hall. Following this, new members were recruited to the steering group and work on the plan restarted.
