The Steering Group are pleased to announce that, following several years concerted effort, Bratton’s Neighbourhood
Development Plan (NDP) is ready for public consultation.
The consultation period runs from 29th July to 23rd September 2024.
We now need your views to ensure that the Plan appropriately reflects the views of our community.
Neighbourhood planning gives the people of Bratton the opportunity to develop a shared vision and influence the development and growth of our Parish. It enables us to highlight characteristics we want to protect, choose where we want new homes, what new buildings should look like and protect our valued amenities.

Having reviewed the Bratton Neighbourhood Development Plan I understand that we have now met the new housing commitments for Bratton in the form of the houses that are now under construction on the Westbury Road. I would not like to see the development of housing in Bratton getting out of hand as has happened in Westbury itself and we clearly now have to stop at this stage. I would also like to understand what development is being planned in Edington as there is plenty of space there for new housing and potentially a new primary school and a convenience store. This would certainly relieve the pressure on Bratton and protect the village from over-development.
