To mark the auspicious occasion, a free raffle ticket will be given with every piece of cake you buy. The prize? A celebration Coronation Cake.
The newly laid Coronation path along with wall railings at the Church Institute, is ready for use and will be opened by Rosemarie Gale prior to the Coronation Tea bags on Monday 8th May.
A suitable plaque is being made to go on the wall for the occasion, and Joan has kindly agreed to adorn the outside of the BCI accordingly and Gill is kindly providing a suitable ribbon to cut for the opening.
Debby Bailey is kindly providing musical accompaniment for the event as well as after in the hall for Tea bags. We shall move the electric piano outside the Oratory room for the occasion, and Debby will get us into the mood playing from about 2 . 15 ( weather permitting ).
At 2. 30 Ray Davis, as the Bratton crier will call us all to order – followed by a suitable build up from Debby !
Col. Peter Sharland will then say a few words of welcome and thanks to all those who have made the project possible. And will then invite Malcolm Wieck to bless the path and all those who traverse along it.
Rosemarie Gale will then ‘ ceremoniously’, cut the ribbon to formally open the path, and unveil the plaque on the wall.
Debby will then play the National anthem – at the end of which Ray will summon all to take tea and cake at Teabags in the hall.
All present with then be invited to enter the BCI via the pathway through the side door….
We hope to be joined by Cllr Suzanne Wickham from Ethandune council, and Cllr Keith Rayward from Bratton Parish council.
